Type and scope of care provided

The outpatient department of the Brno Trauma Hospital is a department specialized in post-traumatic and post-operative conditions, but it also focuses on musculoskeletal problems, both acute and chronic, as well as joint and neurological. Care is provided to adult patients, but also to adolescents aged 15 to 18 years.

Rehabilitation treatment

After the patient is examined by a rehabilitation doctor, an individual rehabilitation treatment plan is determined. The treatment is carried out under the guidance of trained physiotherapists in the environment of one building, there is an outpatient clinic, a gym and equipment for physical therapy (electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, ultrasound, rebox and others).
Outpatient infusion therapy is provided for chronic and prolonged algic conditions where appropriate.

Due to the nature of the disease, each patient is treated individually, the methodologies are chosen on a neurophysiological basis according to the current state, e.g. the methodologies used in medical rehabilitation, such as basal programs and subprograms (according to Čápová), PNF method - Kabat, Dorn's method, Brunkow's method, Mojžíšová method, Vojt's method and others). A modern complementary method of treatment is kinesiotape.
Part of the care provided includes information on ergonomic principles, if necessary, rehabilitation aids and medications are also prescribed.

When talking about rehabilitation, it should be emphasized that the chosen procedures, methods or exercises should lead the patient to start the process of recovery or the greatest possible improvement of health and its maintenance, and also to continue the recommended procedures or exercises.
